What beaches take your fancy? Calm, quiet and sandy; or pebbles, waves and loud tropical music; or shallow waters, child friendly with the best fish restaurant? No matter what presses your buttons there will be a beach in Ibiza to suit your desires.
Cala Bassa has a sandy beach surrounded by a wooded area creating ideal shade for those long Rose filled lunches at the famous CBbC restaurant. There are various water sports on offer for those whose can’t lie still on the sunbed for longer than 5 minutes. The crystal clear, turquoise waters are very inviting for all and are suitable for children.
Sa Caleta is a sandy beach with the appearance of a few pebbles surrounded by beautiful red cliffs. Only a 10-minute drive from Ibiza Town – be early, the car park is small so it fills up quickly. Whilst this is a much quieter beach than most, in the peak summer months it does get busy as it is only small and popular with locals as well as tourists looking to relax and snorkel. There is a fabulous restaurant in an old fisherman’s shelter offering sensational Mediterranean cuisine.
Cala Jondal hosts a few of the most famous beach clubs on the island: the Blue Marlin, Tropicana and Yemanja. It is a gorgeous beach with white pebbles dotted around. However, many of the beach clubs have built up their own sandy stretch to make it easier underfoot. Accessible only by car (or private yacht!) it is one of the more up-market beaches, popular with the rich and famous. Definitely for those wanting to party on the beach.
